![]() In the mid-80's, Fritz Adkisson's World Class Championship Wrestling not only housed many established superstars, among them Fritz's sons Kerry and Kevin Von Erich, the Fabulous Freebirds, King Kong Bundy, and Bruiser Brody; it also served as a training ground for two future WWF World Champions. One of them was a young blonde named Steven Williams, trained by Gentleman Chris Adams, who later rechristened himself "Stunning" Steve Austin. The other? Well, on one of his many "scouting trips" to Dallas/Fort Worth area bars, Fritz ran across a heavily tattoed, six-foot-ten bouncer. After being trained by Kevin, the bouncer made his World Class debut, in a black singlet and mask, as the Punisher. "The Punisher" feuded with Kerry Von Erich during his WCCW stint, eventually winning the Texas Heavyweight title, before moving on to the NWA/WCW, where he wrestled as "Mean" Mark Callous (a play on his real name, Mark Calloway), and was a member of the Skyscrapers with Dan Spivey after Sid Vicious left the company. After his brief and mainly unsuccessful stay in WCW, he was signed by the WWF, who repackaged him as Cain the Undertaker, later shortened to...the Man from the Darkside, Dead Man Walking, the Phenom, the Undertaker. Wonder if he helped bury any of the Von Erich kids? or are believed to be public domain. This site is best viewed with Internet Explorer at 800x600 resolution. |
